Punching
Punching operations can include hole-cutting, cutting out blanks and cutting off lengths.
This method is quick and inexpensive, and should therefore be considered before other machining methods. It is however important that the profile is shaped to allow punching.
The most widely used equipment is the punch press. Hydraulic and electric presses are also used.
