SBS Portugal and Portuguese security authorities show the power of Avantis 92 BR

Sapa Portugal invited the Portuguese National Guard (GNR) and Prisons Security Office (GISP) to embark on a real shooting test of bullet resistant system Avantis 92 BR as part the product launch in the market.
The live demonstration of this security and protection system was attended by guests from Sapa including a selected team of fabricators, architects and main contractors that were impressed by the strong resistance of the system. The session was covered by media reporters that will spread the news about the product characteristics.

The demonstration was performed at the GNR training camp by professional snipers of GNR and GISP that shot bullets of the same caliper as those used in the official testing where the system had reached class FB6. The results were quite impressive fully complying with the official testing without minor damage to the system and ensuring the protection and complete integrity of the inner part of the tested window frame.

The excitement and overwhelming developed by the visual impact of the testing and the capacity of resistance lead to additional shooting with higher caliper bullets with astonishing results that deserved highly positive comments from the professional team involved in the operation.

Artur Mexia, Technical and Projects Director at Sapa Portugal, answered the questions of media regarding the opportunities for business, markets and cost of product by saying that "the most important issue for users of spaces to be protected is to make them feel safe at work ensuring that they are not physically exposed to the risk of being shot and that they remain emotionally stable, thus focusing on their activities feeling less stressed and relaxing by facing a reduced dangerous environment". In this way, the cost factor to apply this sort of product "should not be relevant when security and welfare of space tenants is the major concern of designers and owners". Yet "it is expected that the incorporation of value added components related to bullet proof glazing, reinforced special steel alloys, thicker profiles and high level testing will increase investment value", he added. The A92 BR system was mostly addressed to markets and places "where the risk of conflict is high and the use of shooting weapons is tolerated and unregulated". The type of buildings includes embassies, banks, law courts and similar offices.
