Surrounded by oak trees and apple orchards, this dramatic private house was contemporary in design but built to blend in with its surroundings using traditional materials
The architect’s clients are timber enthusiasts and the use of oak throughout the building, both internally and externally, was key to the project’s overall aesthetics.
With expansive areas of glazing there was a demand for a structurally strong, high performance glazing system that would merge with the timber structure yet provide superb thermal performance and maximum light penetration to the interior.
Dualframe 75mm windows in a contrasting yet striking bronze finish met all of the architect’s and client’s design and performance criteria.
