Genesis
Genesis – Our way of doing things
As we continue to develop the new Sapa and integrate our organization, we must use Genesis to form the culture that will underpin our ambition to World Leading company in all our business areas; Profiles, Building Systems and Heat exchanger strips. As market leader we must ensure that we utilize our ressources to the full, understand our value chain and recognize that our people will make the difference. Genesis encompasses this overall culture or way-of-doing-things. It provides a framework for us to become a learning organization, which will move us towards our goal of becoming a world class leader. There are 3 overarching principles under the Genesis umbrella:
Focus on the customers needs Relentlessly strive to eliminate waste People are the cornerstone of the system The core challenge for Sapa in creating the “Genesis Culture” is to migrate from a traditional hierarchical organization, where information is flowing top-down, with command and control characteristics. This migration must move our organization towards one where people are truly empowered and where information is flowing directly between (internal) customers and suppliers, along the entire value chain. The role of leaderships becomes one of strategic guidance, coaching and providing help to solve problems and improve.
Empowering the value chain and the operators
From management to help chains
Focus on culture, transfer of knowledge and benchmarking
This type of organization is simply more efficient and creates more value, faster, because it makes optimal use of the creativity of all employees, avoids wasteful activities, provides motivation and engagement and will deliver value to our customers. Genesis has been adopted from the Toyota-Way and consists of concepts and tools which have proven to be superior way of achieving results for many decades. The Sapa leadership is determined to build the organizational competency in order to achieve excellence through Genesis.
