Sapa Announces a New Dimension in Extruded Machining Stock

Cressona, PA – Sapa Industrial Extrusions announces major enhancements to its line of extruded aluminum machining stock. The company has launched ECON-O-ROD® Plus and ECON-O-HEX® Plus, new and improved products that raise the standard for close tolerance extruded aluminum rod and hex bar.

These market-leading products that originally changed the screw machining industry are now even better, offering significantly more quality and value:

• Straightness improved to .0083” /ft., .100” maximum over 12 ft. length...equivalent to 2/3rds standard extruded tolerance for most sizes.

• Tighter dimensional tolerances are 1/2 or closer than standard and exceed Aluminum Association Standard Tolerance and Precision Tolerance for extruded rod and hex bar in .750” to 7.500” size range.

• Widest selection of alloys: 6061, 6082 and reduced lead 6042 (which are RoHS and ELV-compliant) and 6262, with a choice of tempers including stress-relieved –T6511 and –T5511.

• Expanded size range: ECON-O-ROD® Plus diameters from .312” to 7.500” and ECON-O-HEX® Plus thicknesses from .438” to 3.250”. Custom and metric sizes are also available.

ECON-O-ROD® Plus and ECON-O-HEX® Plus provide the benefits of improved machining performance and tight, consistent dimensions with attractive cost savings over higher priced cold finish rod. By the end of March, 2008, these improved products will be available from Sapa Industrial Extrusions and its selected distributor partners.
