Hier project
‘Hier’ is an initiative of over 40 charities, which are trying to meet the worldwide climate changes by executing all kinds of projects in the Netherlands and beyond. One of the projects that is active under the ‘Hier’ campaign is a program where environmental organizations and businesses are together working on the development of carbon neutral products. Carbon neutral products are products which don’t contribute to the greenhouse effect. This because the emission of greenhouse gases is such reduced and/or composed, that the products during the whole production, use and processing after the lifespan don’t have CO2 emissions. ‘Hier’ also wants to involve consumers, companies and governments with this program.
At Sapa Pole Products we are aware that our company can contribute. As a production company we can reduce the CO2 emission. That is why we analyzed our production process with help of an independent consultancy group (www.ecofys.nl). At different stages in our production process we have implemented energy savings and with our patented reinforcement profile we can reduce the weight of the columns up to 20%. With pride we can add the label Carbon Neutral to our lighting columns.
The compensation amount will be used by Sapa Pole Products for the compensation project. There are strict regulations with environmental federations.
