A part of the natural cycle

All industrial activity entails the consumption of natural resources and has an impact on the environment. Of course, this applies also to the aluminium industry. On the other hand, if we make a life cycle analysis, it becomes evident that aluminium products have a positive environmental impact in comparison with alternative materials.

All the aluminium that we use within Sapa can be recycled in a nearly endless cycle. While the production of the metal itself is energy-intensive, our profile manufacturing process is relatively resource efficient. The low weight of a profile makes it also attractive for the transport industry. Each kilogram by which the vehicle weight is reduced results in a lower fuel consumption. These savings are significantly bigger that the energy used in the manufacturing process. Therefore, if we consider the total environmental load, there are many arguments in favour of aluminium.
