SHAPED - aluminium profiles, building systems and heat transfer strip

Soft shapes, functional lines, varying cross-section – aluminium profiles are meant to be shaped. We bend them tightly or shape profiles with large radii. We can also stretch or press the metal to get the right appearance.

It is also possible to form pipes in moulds – in three dimensions in a single operation. The method is known as hydroforming and makes it possible to change the cross-section in a stepless manner – along the entire length of the profile or in parts of it. The method is excellent for complex structures, profiles used in limited space and where the dimensional precision must be extremely high.

Hydroformed profiles from Sapa are used today, among other things, in several European car and truck makes. They can be used for anything from side members to luggage carriers.
