New Alloy
Sapa is constantly working to develop and improve our alloys. As part of our efforts to internationalize and standardize the nomenclature of various alloys, we will replace the Sapa 6063 with Sapa 6060F22.
The new alloy Sapa 6060F22 will provide a more consistent surface quality, while it has the same mechanical properties and strength as Sapa 6063. We will implement the change gradually, beginning with profiles that are supplied in long lengths. Replacement of alloy for fabricated material begins after the summer of 2009.
Table for alloy>>
New requests will as standard be offered according to Sapa 6060F22 instead of Sapa 6063 from 2009-04-15.
Summary:
Allows for improved surface quality
Comparable / smoother anodized surface
Manages the same material and strength requirements as Sapa 6063
Same prerequisites for fabrication as Sapa 6063
Sapa 6060F22 replaces Sapa 6063 as standard on all new profiles
Sapa 6063 alloy will until further notice remain for approved / classified profile solutions
Sapa 6063F25 - T66 will remain as standard alloy.
