30 million to be invested in a new centre

Sapa Profiler is now investing 30 million SEK in a Customer Centre of Excellence, a development centre where both the customers and other Sapa companies will have access to the collected experience and competence of Sapa Profiler.

– One of the important factors behind the success of Sapa Profiler is our way of working in close co-operation with the customers’ product developers, designers and production staff, says Carl von Schantz, the Managing Director. During all the years we have enhanced our contacts and strengthened our position as an important partner. This is entirely in line with the strategy of the Sapa Group saying that “Sapa shall be perceived as the most attractive partner by being innovative, business-minded and cost effective”.

“Increased added value” and “continuous improvement”

– We are working on continuous improvement according to a model called Genesis.  This means that we in all parts of our business focus on “increased added value” and “continuous improvement”, adds Carl. Through the Customer Centre of Excellence in Vetlanda we are making big efforts in an area where we have already achieved a lot and where we all the time are working on just “increased added value” as the objective.

In the centre we gather our extensive knowledge and long experience under one roof. This strengthens our position on the market.

It has become more important for our customers to reduce the time from an idea to a product launch. Therefore, the centre has special rooms that the customers can hire and where they can, under strict confidence, carry out development work together with our technicians. The premises are also going to include a prototype workshop.

The centre is going to consist of, among other things, workrooms for Sapa staff (the number of employees is going to be increased by about ten persons), exhibition rooms, team-work rooms as well as conference and training rooms.

Export of Know-how

– Through this investment we are going to be able to maintain and strengthen our position as the market leader in Scandinavia and the Baltic States, says Carl. The premises will also be open for our Sapa colleagues and our “ambassadors” are going to visit Sapa companies all over the world. In a structured way, we are going to offer our sister companies access to everything we know about aluminium and profiles, engineering and design, calculations, production of prototypes, fabrication, logistics and testing.

Of course, our contacts with the sister companies are going to give us even more knowledge. The Group will get a competence center which will become better and better all the time, and will gradually strengthen Sapa’s position as an attractive partner. At the same time, the companies will get improved possibilities of finding profitable business opportunities on a global market.
