FiMa becomes Sapa Profilbearbetning AB and Sapa TeleCom changes its name.
FiMa becomes Sapa Profilbearbetning AB
On January 1, 2008 the fabrication plant of Sapa Profiler in Finspång (FiMa) became a separate company with the name Sapa Profilbearbetning AB.
Sapa Profilbearbetning has about 80 employees and specialises in the production of air and liquid coolers as well as the fabrication of long complex products. Advanced CNC machining and Friction Stir Welding (FSW) are other focus areas at Sapa Profilbearbetning.
Sapa TeleCom changes its name to Sapa Thermal Management
Sapa’s business segment TeleCom changes its name to Sapa Thermal Management. The reason for the new name is that it covers more of the unit’s area of activity, i.e. solutions for taking care of or carrying away unwanted heat that is produced by electronic components.
Apart from profiles for electronic cabinets, the development within TeleCom in the recent years has concentrated a lot on heat sinks. Experience and competence in the heat sink area has grown gradually in the segment and the customer base has expanded.
There is generally a large potential for heat sinks. This means that in the future Sapa Thermal Management is going to direct its marketing efforts towards power generation, wind power, home electronics companies, etc. The name change does not entail any organisational changes.
