Sapa Profiles gives notice of redundancy in Sweden

Sapa Profiles in Sweden gives notice of redundancy to 106 employees - 76 in Vetlanda and 30 in Finspång. The notice affects 15 people in administration and 91 people in production. A consultation process with the trade union representatives will be initiated immediately.

The market development in a number of sales areas is negative which is resulting in lower order volumes overall. Consequently, Sapa needs to take measures to adjust the organisation accordingly.

During the last years, several improvement initiatives have been implemented in order to improve customer service, increase productivity and reduce cost structure. These improvements have made the company better equipped to manage tougher market conditions.

- As always, we have to adjust our cost level to reflect order volumes. While the decision to give notice of redundancy at this time has become inevitable, I believe strongly in our business in Sweden, says managing director Carl von Schantz. We have several investment projects ongoing which will support the long term success and growth of our company.
