Restructuring of Sapa Profiler A/S in Denmark
In January 2011, Sapa’s global profile organisation was restructured, resulting in Sapa Profiler A/S in Denmark becoming part of Sapa Profiles Sweden together with sister companies in Sweden, Norway, Finland and the Baltic. The aim of the restructuring was to use the synergy to create marketing advantages and thereby strengthen Sapa Profiles market position as the world’s largest producer of aluminium profiles.
Despite efforts during the last two years to strengthen sales activities and increase market share, Sapa Profiler A/S has experienced continued unsatisfactory results, which has been the case for several years.
The Sapa Group executive board has therefore decided to start negotiations for a restructuring of the Danish profile operations, whereby the sales organisation, including sales support and sales technology will continue to operate from Denmark and the production facility is to be transferred to Sapa’s other production plants, primarily in Sweden. It has been proposed that the sales organisation should move to a geographically more central location, for example Aarhus.
Approximately 95 employees from production and administration will be effected by this restructuring, which is expected to be completed before the end of 2011.
Negotiations with the employee’s representatives has started.
- We are well aware of the fact that the planned restructuring will have serious consequences for many of our co-workers, says MD Henrik Futtrup. Sapa wishes to do as much possible to help its employees further on. This is one of the elements that is included in the pending negotiations.
