Sapa’s profile operations in Sweden announce redundancies in Vetlanda and Finspång

Sapa’s profile operations has given notice that 86 employees are to be made redundant – 71 in Vetlanda and 15 in Finspång, Sweden. The announcement affects 63 salaried employees and 23 employees under collective contract. Negotiations with trade union representatives (under the 1976 Co-Determination Act) will begin as soon as possible.

The redundancies follow an extensive reorganisation process that has necessitated a complete review of operations.

“It’s never easy to have to inform so many employees about redundancies,” says Tony Elfström, CEO, “but in order for our company to remain competitive it is essential that we improve the efficiency of our operations. The redundancies that have been announced will safeguard our long-term competitiveness and make us more profitable. We also believe that the new organisation will enhance our customer service in many ways and further secure our position as the market leader in Sweden.”
