Powder coating
Compared with conventional wet-paint coating, powder coating is now clearly the preferred method for coating aluminium profiles. In this process, the coating is applied without use of solvents and then cured. In contrast to a wet-coating plant, 98% of the powder in the powder coating process adheres to the product. The remaining 2% is collected and re-used.
All types of paint can be used, including special types such as texture, metallic and clear paints. The most modern process from Sapa at the moment is a coating technology for producing patterned surfaces

The benefits of powder coating
- - no running or blistering
- - very good reproducibility
- - significantly more resistant to impact and wear than wet-paint coating
- - good ductility (the workpiece can even be bent after coating)
- - good resistance to UV and corrosion
