Award for technological innovation for Sapa Profily

At the end of the year 2008 the Slovak Chamber of Commerce in a partnership with the self-governing region Banská Bystrica announced a competition “Krištáľový Merkúr 2008“ in an area of innovations.

An aim of this competition is to support and present innovative activities of entrepreneurial environment that contribute to an economic development of regions, and by this also contribute to the entire country development. 

The competition “Krištáľový Merkúr 2008” was announced for three categories – Product Innovation, Technological Innovation and Innovation in Management and Marketing. Sapa Profily registered for two categories. For the category Product Innovation a stator ring was registered. This product enabled to create a completely new concept of entire system of car engine camshaft phaser. A technology of extrusion using powder materials with high silicon content was registered in the category Technological Innovation.

Official results of competition were announced as well as awards won on February 18, 2009. Sapa Profily won the first price and award “Krištáľový Merkúr 2008“ for the technological innovation. The award was taken up by Mr. Peter Oslanec, the product technology manager of the company and as well as the project manager of powder materials project.
