Solar-module frames make successful appearance at 24th PVSEC in Hamburg
Sapa exhibited for the first time at the recent PVSEC trade fair in Hamburg. The company had already demonstrated the importance of this market for the whole of the Sapa Group with the establishment of a specialist solar sales team in Germany last year.

“Despite the economic crisis, the solar industry is currently showing strong growth worldwide. Sapa is ideally prepared for this and also supports its clients here with customised profile solutions all over the globe,” says Thomas Peukert, Sales Manager Solar Germany.
As the only aluminium extrusion company exhibiting at the 24th PVSEC, Sapa provided visitors to its 85 m² stand with information relating to ‘Framed Sunshine’.
Renewable energies and aluminium – also known as the green metal – go well together: aluminium profiles can be completely recycled and in addition to ecological benefits offer a combination of strength, formability, corrosion resistance and light weight. Above all, the possibility of integrating functions into the profile is a major plus and makes it easier, for example, to mount the solar modules on roofs.
During the fair, Sapa also presented its new solar frames (utility model registrated at patent office - PCT/EP2009/006354 DE1020080455)* – ‘developed and made by Sapa’– which generated considerable visitor interest.
Clients can achieve cost savings of up to 15 per cent by intelligently integrating many different functions directly into the profile frames – regardless of whether they are used for thin-film or wafer-based modules.
An added bonus for the client is customer branding, which does not incur any additional costs.
“The evaluation of the reports from the fair vindicated our view that there is nowhere like a trade fair for contacting so many clients and interested parties in such a short time. We were also more than satisfied with the quality of the contacts throughout the whole fair – much information was exchanged and new contacts were made,” says Marketing Manager
Tania Voigt.
“There was also the successful presentation of our frame, which is a really new addition to the market: ‘Development made in Germany – quality made globally’,” she adds. “The keen interest in it showed how much the market is demanding potential for rationalisation together with quality – especially in view of the pressure on prices generated by suppliers from the Far East. And here Sapa supports its clients – worldwide.”
We would like to express our sincere thanks here to the numerous visitors to our stand and to everyone who made this successful trade fair appearance possible.
