Inge Buyse, Managing Director for Alutubes Sapa Heat Transfer Belgium, is nominated by the Flemish Government as member of the Industry Council

inge Buyse, Alutubes, BelgiumLast week, the Flemish Government announced the start of the Industry Council, giving advice to the Flemish government on the Industry Policy of the Flemish Region.

10 Captains of Industry in the Flemish Region, amongst which Inge Buyse – MD of Alutubes, Sapa Heat Transfer Belgium in Lichtervelde – have been nominated to advise the Flemish Government in its new Industrial Policy.  The Flemish Government wants to come to a transformation of the industry in Flanders to be able to respond to the future challenges.

All of the members of the Industry Council are independent Industry-experts with an international profile. 

Industry only represents 15% of total employment, but represents 85% of the total export and 80% of total R&D. 

Inge Buyse says she is proud to have been asked to become a member since it means that Alutubes in Lichtervelde, Belgium, has been noticed and has a very good reputation in the industrial playing field.

“It is important that we raise our voice and tell the government what the specific needs of the industry are, especially in turbulent times as today.  At the same time it is an opportunity for our organization to benchmark with the other (far larger) industrial companies represented in the Industry Council, like BASF, Bekaert, Sara Lee, Johnson&Johnson etc.” Inge explains.
