Did you know?
Finland is best known for its nature, with clean lakes and beautiful scenery. It also is known for design, sauna and, of course, Santa Claus.
Sapa has an office in southern Finland for the sales and distribution of extruded aluminium profiles and building systems. The Espoo office, which employs 13 people, began distributing profiles for the Finnish market in September 1974. These products are extruded by Sapa plants in Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland and Sweden.

Jussi-Heikki Myllymäki (pictured) started his career in Sapa in 1996 as a sales engineer. He has led the company’s operations in Finland since 2004.
We believe our strengths in Finland are:
Strong technical skills make Sapa a valuable partner for customers in the area of product development. In Finland, its team’s mission is to distribute innovative profiles with added value together with subcontractors. This is something that its customers value highly, due to the domestic supply chain with short and accurate lead times.
A project we are proud of:
Wärtsilä is Sapa’s biggest customer in Finland. The company is a global leader in power solutions for the marine and energy markets, with operations in more than 200 locations in some 70 countries.
The Wärtsilä 31 engine achieved a Guinness World Record title as the most efficient four-stroke diesel engine. The listing is based on the engine's highest fuel efficiency levels, with diesel fuel consumption as low as 165 g/kWh. The Wärtsilä 31 engine is designed to serve various types of vessels in the offshore, cruise and ferry, and other marine segments, where the power range requirement is from 4.2 to 9.8 MW. In addition, the engines come in three alternative versions: diesel, dual-fuel and spark-ignited gas.
From the beginning, Sapa has been involved in designing all needed aluminum profiles for this engine, resulting in seven different high-end profiles with a lot of added value.
The company delivers value-added parts such as side covers, shields, air blocks and manifolds for different four-stroke engine types manufactured mainly in Finland, Italy and China. In total, Sapa delivers approximately 80 different shapes in more than 500 variants to Wärtsilä.
