Did you know?
Sapa has around 290 employees in Slovakia. The company operates an extrusion plant in Ziar nad Hronom, and has Sapa Building System-brand sales offices in Ziar nad Hronom and Bratislava.
The extrusion plant has been producing aluminium profiles for more than 45 years. Its first extrusion press was installed in 1969. Over the years, the company has produced more than 9,000 various shapes.
Today, the plant has a seven-inch press and a 10-inch press. Its anodizing operation, built as a greenfield facility in 2012, replaced the old line from 1972. The fabrication operation has been built step-by-step, beginning in 2006.
We believe our strengths in Slovakia are:
The extrusion plant in Slovakia joined Sapa in 2006. Since then, the company has moved away from the production of standard and low value-added profiles and to the development and production of high value-added profiles and components.
“A great advantage of our company that affords the opportunity to meet the demanding requirements of customers is our ‘one-stop shop’ service approach. We have built a powerful position in our home market in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. With the pressure of growing competition, all our further activities are being directed toward maintaining our position in the market," says Teodor Kvapil (pictured above), managing director of Sapa Profily Slovakia.
"Our people are responsible for that, and I am proud of the way they act in the field – as professionals – and of the way they are constantly adjusting to new terms."
Projects we are proud of:
The strength of Sapa in Slovakia is its long-term relations with customers, its flexibility and its ability to handle the complexity of offered services to more than 700 active customers a year.
”We are proud of each and every customer and the orders we acquire. We are especially proud of projects for major global customers such as ContiTech, Siemens, Rehau and ABB. We acquired these customers, also thanks to the knowledge and experience we gained in our IKEA project. This project was a challenging test for us in the field of production and logistics,” says Karol Kružic (pictured), sales manager of Sapa Profily Slovakia.
Another fine project, according to Albert Lapka, who is country manager for Slovakia for the Sapa Building System brand, Slovakia, is the double-skin facade on the 24-story building of Technical University in Bratislava. The facade was delivered by SBS Slovakia. The building is pictured at right.
As market leader, Sapa seeks to educate the market and bring forward the innovations. Therefore, Sapa will continue to organize Profile Academy events for the project engineers, designers and buyers of our customers. We want to educate them in the field where we are best, in the knowledge of aluminium profiles and design.
As a major employer in the region, Sapa takes part in the development of technical-oriented education. In this area, it works in association with the Technical University of Košice and other companies in Ziar’s industrial park. The association’s aim is the systematic creation of quality conditions for professional education of young people in metal processing and metallurgy. Such educational support is key for the future of the company and the region of Ziar.
