Aluminum Extrusion

Sapa North America offers a wide range of extrusion press sizes across our network of production facilities. With 23 locations and 68 presses in North America, we can offer press circle sizes from 2.5" to nearly 22" wide. We offer the largest number of indirect presses in the market, with cross- tooling for large volume customers and extensive customer support. All Sapa North America extrusion facilities have access to the resources of the entire network, making Sapa an idea partner for most every extrusion need.

Friction Stir Welding- Friction-stir welding (FSW) is a solid-state joining process (meaning the metal is not melted during the process) and is used for applications where the original metal characteristics must remain unchanged as far as possible and weld distortion must be minimized.

Hydro Forming- Hydroforming is a specialized type of die forming that uses a high pressure hydraulic fluid (water) to press room temperature working material into a die.

Powder Coat (1 Vertical Powder Line) to 25'- Powder coat paint is a free-flowing ‘dry’ powder coating, typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a "skin".

Anodize

Anodize Clear (201, 202, 204, 205 R1) - up to 31'/Duralock (215-L light bronze, 215-M medium bronze, 215-D dark bronze; up to 31'/215-Cham champagne; 215-BB black – Both Caustic as well as Acid Etch
Clear Anodizing- A widely used anodizing method typically involving sulfuric acid anodize followed by hot water seal.
Two-Step Anodizing- Also known as Electrolytic Coloring; after anodizing the metal is immersed in a bath containing an inorganic metal salt. Current is applied which deposits the metal salt in the base of the pores. The resulting color is dependent on the metal salt used and the processing conditions.
Electrolytically Deposited Color (champagne to black) up to 29' - See Two-Step Anodizing
Hard Coat Clear- An electrochemical process that provides clear corrosion protection to aluminum and aluminum alloy parts or pieces.
Sapa Select Acid Etch- An alternative chemical etching process that produces a superior finish compared to traditional caustic etch anodizing.  Acid etching is performed in the pre-treatment cleaning of aluminum profiles, prior to the anodizing process.
Brite Dip to 18'- Brite Dip is a process for increasing the specularity or brightness of aluminum by leveling the microscopic roughness or "peaks and valleys" on the surface of aluminum parts. Brite Dip anodizing enhances the glossy appearance of aluminum for cosmetic applications.
Traditional Caustic Etch- Chemical treatment done prior to anodizing to improve the final appearance of the anodized part.
