Sapa Extrusion Raeren S.A.

Even if the story of Siegmund Hirsch who lived in Raeren before the second world war is not precisely traceable anymore, it is reported that the inhabitants of Raeren protected him against the nazi regime during the Second World War.

Later, he emigrated to the United States and in 1960 he laid the foundation stone for an aluminium plant in Raeren, in order to thank the inhabitants of Raeren. The first aluminium profile was extruded in 1961.
