Sapa believes in achieving profitability in a way that is consistent with fundamental ethical values, and with respect for individuals, the environment and society. Sapa is both influenced by and influences the rest of the world – environmentally, socially and financially. This presents risks and challenges but also opportunities. The group is committed to continuous improvement in environmental performance, health and safety, and in conducting our business ethically.
One of our three strategic pillars is Environment, Health and Safety (EHS). To support the organization on a daily basis, we have an EHS Steering Document, a Code of Conduct and guidelines for issues where further guidance is required. The management systems and action plans ensure that the group works systematically with critical sustainability issues.
Our Corporate Social Responsibility Directives require continuous improvement of supplier standards towards our CSR principles. As a part of this requirement, Sapa Pole Products requires its suppliers to sign a Supplier Declaration, reflecting our CSR principles. The intention of this declaration is to increase awareness and improve transparency of CSR in our supply chain.
EHS management system
Sapa believes in EHS excellence within environment, health and safety, and is committed to continuous improvement within this area. EHS plans are developed annually describing environmental, health and safety goals and objectives. The goals that are pursued are summarized below:
- We will provide a safety and healthy workplace for all our employees, with the long term goal of avoiding injuries, incidents and occupational diseases.
- We constantly seek to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and improve the use of resources.
- We use our innovative and technical resources with our customers to find aluminium solutions which meet the environmental objectives.

Cradle to Cradle® philosophy
The Cradle to Cradle® philosophy is in line with our lasting policy: a new approach to sustainable design with completely new principles for design and development of products, based on 100% recycled material.
More information about the implementation of this philosophy, within our organization and our Cradle to Cradle Certified™ silver lighting columns, can be found on the Cradle to Cradle® pages.
