Introducing Sapa’s UK Application Centre (UKAC)

This is where design, quality and product solutions are based on rigorous analytic processes and experiences.

Supporting designers and engineers with the development process provides cost savings, reduction in lead times and a solution to the exact needs and requirements when designing with aluminium.

Whether it’s transforming an existing steel part into high-quality aluminium, or starting fresh from the drawing board, the UKAC has the design expertise to create cost reducing, corrosion resistant, sustainable, lightweight products. Use the UKAC as your first avenue for creative use of aluminium extrusions to improve your product’s design.

Every customer understands that the ability to hold a product in their hands is a valuable step during the development process. The UKAC has a dedicated prototyping cell, allowing customer’s access to physically examine new concepts. Sapa also takes all measures to keep your product safe, respecting customers needs for confi dentially.

R&D Analysis

Meeting customer’s product standards is easy when using the UKAC’s research and analysis capabilities. Advanced computer simulations are applied to discover the best possible design option every time, which reduces costs and lead times in the development process.

Customer Value

The UKAC understands the concept of value. Customers want solutions which increase the value of their products in the marketplace. The UKAC staff are trained to help you quantify the value of competing solutions so you can make correct product development decisions and maintain your competitive advantage.

Project Management

Creating a product is not completed over-night; it takes dedication and commitment from all parties involved. The UKAC is there with you every step of the way making sure that all aspects are covered from start to finish.

Everything becomes lighter with aluminium

Aluminium is a metal with many positive properties. It is light-weight, strong, fl exible, formable and recyclable. It is the third most common element in the earth’s crust making aluminium one of the few metals to which we have essentially unlimited access. It can be reused over and over again without losing its unique properties. Another advantage is that recycling only requires 5% of the original energy input. After iron, aluminium is now the second most widely used metal in the world.

Material properties such as light weight, combined with high strength and resistance to corrosion contribute to low environmental loading.

Extrusion is a technology with a wide area of applications, making it possible to produce custom-made profi les at a low cost.
