Improvements and Initiatives at Sapa Group
Sapa locations worldwide carry out many and varied health and safety improvements.
The Group's initiatives range from major investments in equipment to smaller improvements such as preventing falls.
Examples of our initiatives and improvements over the last years:
- At Sapa Heat Transfer Finspång (Sweden), safety courses are obligatory for all operators.
- Since 2010 Sapa Profiles Tibshelf in Great Britain has a new extrusion line with high standards of machinery safety.
- In 2010, Sapa Profiles Yankton in USA installed a new packing system providing mechanical assistance.
- Sapa Profile Harderwijk (The Netherlands) implemented an innovative die handling equipment to minimize ergonomic risks in 2010.
- In 2009, Sapa Heat Transfer in Finspång, Sweden, introduced a "contractor license" as a requirement for all contractors before starting work inside the industrial area. Over 1,000 contractors have received the licenses after trainings in environmental, health and safety during 2009 and 2010.
