How does it work?

The climate neutral lighting columns from Sapa consist of a minimum of  95 procent recycled aluminium from our own cast house. The lighting columns are 100% recyclable. Since there is no downgrade, the quality of the material is guaranteed every time. With our new patented reinforcement profile the columns can be produced with up to 20% less weight. Because of this material saving, Co2 emissions are reduced. Apart from that emissions are reduced by the use of a very environmentally friendly root section protection system, which allows more of the used column to be recycled, and by a series of energy saving measures that are carried out at Sapa in Drunen.

When you are interested in reducing Co2 emissions of your lighting columns, Sapa Pole Products can review the current lighting columns you use in your programme and advise whether they can be produced in aluminium. If you already have aluminium columns we will consider the possibility of reducing the weight of your columns by using Sapa columns with our reinforcement profile (VT 5+).

By putting up a proposal for aluminium lighting columns we will be able to determine the remaining carbon emissions over their lifespan. We can then advise you how much emission has to be compensated to obtain a neutral carbon footprint. The amount of money that is needed to compensate this emission depends on the emission per lighting column. Sapa Pole Products will use this value for our emission compensation project, Solar PV systems. This project operates in cooperation with the Dutch Climate Neutral Group.

When you order lighting columns and they are delivered you will receive an invoice mentioning the exact fee which is needed to compensate the carbon emission. At the end of the year you will receive an official participation certificate confirming how much emission you have compensated by using the aluminium lighting columns with a carbon neutral footprint.
