TRI Arrangements

TRITraffic Regulation Installations control traffic by means of traffic lights. In addition, extra functions can be suspended from these installations, such as street lighting and traffic signs.
Sapa Pole Products produces TRI arrangements. The customer has the choice of two models: columns with bracket, or overhead sign structures. A column with bracket is made up of one leg with a height of 6 metres and a transverse beam with a maximum length of 10 metres. A maximum of three traffic lights can be mounted to the transverse beam. An overhead sign structure is made up of two legs (on each side of the beam ends) and can handle span widths of up to 20 metres. A maximum of five traffic lights can be suspended from it. In addition, the leg of a bracket column or overhead sign structure can be extended for a public lighting function up to a light-point height of 12 metres and be provided with traffic lights.

Advantages of an aluminium construction
The advantages of an aluminium construction compared to other materials:

  • Recyclable: not only the aluminium but also the LDPE ground wing-plates and the root section protection (Corrossion protective tape) can be recycled.

  • Ergonomic: the beams are light, making it more simple to pre-install traffic lights.

  • Maintenance/durability: no maintenance is required - which is not the case with steel constructions. Painting is not necessary, except for the lower part of the leg, which only has a visual function. Therefore, there is no need to divert traffic in order to paint the construction. Furthermore, a Sapa Pole Products construction does not need to be disassembled.

  • Scrap value: aluminium has a high scrap value (up to 15% of the initial cost of the construction).

  • Overhead sign structures and bracket columns are equipped with stabilizing ground wings made of recycled polyethylene.

TRI arrangements alongside the roadway can also serve as post-top columns.
