ECON-O-PLATE offers a winning combination of properties and features that satisfy wide bar requirements at significantly lower cost: ·        

• Better flatness than standard extruded bar - .004” per inch of width for widths 6” through 18” and thicknesses .250” through 4.000” ·        
• Tight bilateral tolerances – closer than standard rolled plate ·        
• Minimum yield strength and elongation equivalent to 6061-T651 rolled plate ·         Produced with stress-relieved tempers in alloys 6061-T6511, 6042-T5511, 6082-T6511 and 6262-T6511.  ·        
• Certified to ASTM B 221(alloys/tempers 6061-T6, -T6511, 6082-T6511 and 6262-T6, -T6511) and to applicable Federal, Military and Aluminum Association specifications; producing plants are BS EN ISO 9001-2000 certified.  

In ECON-O-PLATE T6511 temper, residual stresses are minimized for improved machinability. With a wide choice of standard sizes, sawing-to-width can be eliminated, reducing waste and processing time.  The choice of alloys and tempers also make it ideal for non-machining applications, such as bending and forming.
